According to the research, at that time, an asteroid that has a diameter of 7-10 kilometers collides with the earth, which caused a huge blast. At first, the temperature on the earth rose dramatically. Then a large numbers of dusts were flung into the air, covering the sun and the sky. Thus the photosynthesis of plants intermitted, which caused the death of all of dinosaurs. The wallop of this collision equals to exploding 5 billion atom bombs at the same time. So how can sea turtle escape from this disaster? Some scientists wrote in their papers, "Marine animals have been living in sea. They can even dive into a deep sea where the change of environment was comparatively small. Therefore they have enough time to adapt to the change of the environment." Especially, sea turtle has very strong diving ability, so that it can magically survive the disaster.
Some Australian scientists recently found some ancient sea turtle's fossils dating back 110 million years ago. With the help of these fossils, the scientists can explain the reason that sea turtle have not changed a lot in this very long time. Scientists hoped to decrypt the "code" that sea turtle disputed their evolution.
These fossils were found in the northeast part of Australia in recent years. Paleontology Ben Karl said, "It doesn't look much difference between the fossils and today's sea turtles.
